The leather is genuinely soft right out of the box, no breaking in needed. The elastic ankle means my 14-month-old can't kick them off in the stroller, which is huge. He walks a little steadier in these than in his sneakers.

These have become the only shoes my toddler will keep on — the leather is buttery soft and already molding to his chubby feet after a week. The fringeless collar looks a little more grown-up than the usual baby moccasins, which I appreciate.
